Camping

Room for everyone, and the dam right there

Bulshoekfarm camping is set on lush green lawns, offering six camping sites, each with direct access to the dam. If you enjoy boating, fishing, canoeing or a refreshing swim, these sites are perfect for you and your group.

We welcome all forms of camping. There is ample space for everyone, with uninterrupted views of Bulshoek Dam. Relax around the campfire while enjoying our incredible birdlife.

Wood and ice are available for sale, with additional options provided on receipt of your booking form.

We are not pet friendly. Please make alternative arrangements for your furry friends.

The big sites

Sites 1, 2 and 3

On the banks of Bulshoek Dam

  • Can accommodate 3 to 4 caravans per site, plus additional tents
  • Each site has a private ablution with toilet, shower and basin
  • Built in braai at each site
  • Sites 1 and 2 require caravan adaptor plugs (male)
  • Site 3 includes a lapa with lights, power and a basin, R100 per night extra
  • Site 3 can be combined when booking the Dam House

Left of the Lotz-Inn

  • Located left of the Lotz-Inn
  • 1 caravan plus 1 to 2 tents, or up to 3 tents
  • Standard electrical plugs, no caravan adaptor required
  • Communal ablution block and dishwashing basins
  • Each site has a freestanding braai

What you will find, and what to pack

  • Electricity, please bring a long extension lead
  • Caravan plug adapter required for sites 1 and 2
  • Braai facilities, own braai grid needed
  • Fresh water and dam water
  • All ablution facilities are fitted with gas geysers
  • Wi-Fi available, cell phone signal is limited
  • Shade is limited, please bring gazebos and shade coverage

House rules

  • No pets allowed. This one is not negotiable.
  • Life jackets must be worn at all times on the motor boat or a canoe. The dam does get busy.
  • Please consider others. No loud music after 22:00.
  • No jet skis, quad bikes or motocross bikes.
  • Dam rules must be followed at all times when using a boat on the dam.
  • This is a working farm. Nobody is allowed near the piggery or the farm working areas.
  • One person books and pays the full amount. We do not split bills.
  • No fireworks.

Good to know

  • Site 3 includes a lapa with lights, power and a basin, R100 per night extra.

Extras

  • Slipway licence
    R50 per day. Your boat must be licensed, the skipper licensed, plus a survey certificate and a flotation certificate. This is separate from your boat licence and it is what allows you on Bulshoek Dam.
  • Ice and wood
    Available on request, straight from the farm.
  • Wi-Fi
    Available for streaming on your own devices. R100 for 3 gigs, vouchers to purchase.
